Metanetica ("we", "us", "our") operates the Bloom mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Bloom.
1. Information We Collect
Bloom is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal data:
- Health data you enter โ cycle dates, mood, symptoms, fertility signs, pregnancy data. Stored locally on your device by default.
- Chat messages โ messages sent to the AI assistant are processed by OpenAI's API to generate responses, then discarded. We do not store chat logs on our servers.
- Optional account info โ name and email, only if you choose to create an account for cloud sync (coming soon).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide cycle tracking, predictions, and health insights within the App
- To generate AI-powered responses through the Lily chat assistant
- To send you notifications you've opted into (period reminders, fertility alerts)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the App's core functionality.
3. Data Storage
By default, all your health data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. We do not have access to your local data. No data leaves your phone unless you explicitly use the AI chat feature or opt into cloud sync.
4. Third-Party Services
- OpenAI API โ Chat messages are sent to OpenAI to generate AI responses. We send only the conversation context, not your cycle data. OpenAI's data usage policy applies to these interactions.
- Expo / EAS โ Used for app updates and build infrastructure. No personal health data is shared with Expo.
- Google Play โ The App is distributed through Google Play. Google's privacy policy applies to the distribution platform.
5. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Location data
- Photos, camera, or microphone access
- Contacts or call logs
- Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies
- Browsing history
- Financial or payment information
- Device identifiers for tracking purposes
6. Data Retention
Local data remains on your device until you delete it. You can delete all data at any time from Profile โ Delete All Data. If you uninstall the App, all local data is permanently removed by the operating system.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
- Local data is stored using the device's secure storage mechanisms
- All network communications use HTTPS encryption
- Optional biometric app lock (fingerprint / Face ID) for additional protection
- No server-side storage of health data in the default configuration
8. Children's Privacy
Bloom is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all your data โ it's stored on your device and fully accessible to you
- Delete all your data at any time from within the App
- Opt out of notifications at any time
- Use the App without an account โ no registration required
- Request account deletion โ if you created a cloud sync account, email us for complete deletion
10. International Users
Bloom is operated from India. If you use the App from outside India, your chat messages (when using the AI feature) may be processed by servers in other countries. By using the AI chat feature, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
